DIVERSEFORCE PRESENTS "UNUSUAL POLITICS: NAVIGATING LOCAL POWER IN UNPREDICTABLE TIMES"

On August 13th, amid a pivotal Presidential election and significant Supreme Court decisions undermining equity-centered initiatives, DiverseForce’s BBEx Network in collaboration with the PA Legislative Black Caucus will convene Black and Brown professionals and entrepreneurs for a crucial conversation designed to equip and mobilize attendees to navigate and shape local governance, directly countering political shifts that threaten their progress.

Philadelphia, PA - August 2, 2024 - DiverseForce’s BBEx Network, in collaboration with the PA Legislative Black Caucus, is excited to announce "Unusual Politics: Navigating Local Power in Unpredictable Times," scheduled for August 13, 2024, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the P4 Hub in Philadelphia.

This unique event is aimed at Black and Brown professionals and their allies, offering a vital platform to engage with and understand the profound impact of local municipal and state governments. As we approach a critical Presidential election and face significant Supreme Court decisions, "Unusual Politics" provides a timely opportunity for community members to come together, network with legislators and policy-makers, and empower themselves with the knowledge to influence local politics effectively.

Attendees will explore the structure of government and learn how local decisions affect the quality of life for Black and Brown professionals in Philadelphia. The evening will include a networking session, followed by discussions led by influential local leaders. This event is part of the Every Voice, Every Vote initiative, managed by The Lenfest Institute for Journalism.

Rep. Napoleon Nelson and Sulaiman Rahman, CEO of DiverseForce, will co-moderate the conversation with esteemed speakers including Kenyatta Johnson, Council President of the Philadelphia City Council; Rep. Darisha Parker, Rep. Jordan Harris, a member of the PA House Majority Appropriations Committee, and Rep. Aerion Abney, all dedicated Pennsylvania State Representatives, amongst other distinguished guests.
